Bowdens Crest owners have over 40 years of experience in the leisure property business and are determined that this multi-million pound redevelopment of their Luxury Lodge Park in Somerset will meet the highest standards possible, including and most importantly a very high standard of customer care.
We have given considerable thought to our customers needs and recognise our clients require certainty and security in making such a major purchase. We hope the following will be helpful in assuring you of our integrity and clarifying any of your concerns.

You need to have peace of mind and we understand that. You need to know that financially your investment is protected. For those reasons we offer a unique 25 or 50 YEAR LICENCE AGREEMENT which will provide the comfort you are looking for.
The agreement you will receive as a purchaser allows you to resell your holiday lodge at any time to anyone. As members of the industry’s leading trade association, the BH&HPA, we must follow a very strict code of conduct. The purchase agreement and licence can be viewed at our offices.
Your Holiday lodge is built to full British Standards, meeting all the requirements for residential accommodation. They exceed in some ways those of a traditional home. The cladding will normally be CanExel, a high density and quality wood composite that comes with a guarantee of up to 25 years. It looks just like timber but has the benefit of not cracking, splitting or warping.
It should also be maintenance free for up to 15 years! Saving cost and hard work! The very high specification and quality of our holiday lodges is meant to reduce maintenance and running costs.
We are highly conscious of our responsibility to the environment and endeavor wherever possible to incorporate sustainability and carbon reduction in the products we sell and indeed the operation of the park. We can discuss with you the fitting of heat pumps and solar panels should you think about having these fitted.
Your new holiday lodge will normally come complete with an extensive range of furnishings and fittings, including fully fitted kitchen and bath/shower rooms, beds, carpets and curtains. Lodges will come with full decking and skirting, parking spaces will be either in your own drive or very close by. All you should need to move in will be bedding, crockery and cutlery. How easy is that!!
A designated parking space is provided per lodge which will either be next to your lodge or close by. Additional parking is available within the park grounds.
We would be happy to help you design your own dream “holiday home”. Our manufacturers will build to your own specification and we and they can sit down with you and discuss all the options. C A D programmes (at the manufacturers) enable you to see exactly what you are getting and can demonstrate on screen what changes can look like.
The pitch fee / service charge charged covers the costs of running the park, including security, ground works, general maintenance, administration etc. Rates-not council tax-will be payable to the park. We are currently waiting for the local authority to advise us what these will be. Our office will supply the latest information.
Pitch Fee / Service Charge for 2018 is £625 plus vat, for each quarter, payable in advance. Payment dates are the 1st March, 1st June, 1st September and the 1st December each year. Another benefit of your agreement is that the pitch fee / service charge is geared to the retail price index. Further peace of mind! Water and electricity is individually metered.
The park is open for 12 months of the year, so you can visit anytime! Bowdens Crest Park is licensed ONLY as a holiday park and must not be occupied as a permanent place of residence. To ensure there is no breach of this strict rule we will need to see evidence that you have a primary place of residence- a copy of your council tax bill or similar will be fine.
Family and friends are welcome to use your holiday lodge at any time. Commercial sub-letting , which we know helps meeting the costs of running your home is allowed at anytime subject to terms and conditions. You may even consider a buy to let basis.
“Buy to Let” is a popular option for some lodge owners. It can provide a good return on investment as well as covering the day to day running costs. Please contact our team for more details.
