This is really the beginning of the New Block, the temporary toilets/showers have arrived

. . . .

Monday 4th March The sewerage is connected, the electrics are being done today

Before the old building can be knocked down, we have to move all the electrics from the rear store to a new building behind the Laundry. These sorts of jobs no-one sees but they take time & money.

Thursday 8th March 2007 - The temporary toilets/showers are up & running but now the fun starts

Not only do all the cables & pipes have to be removed, the block itself has to be dismantled. As if we haven't had enough rain everywhere, the old heaters had to be drained. Of course there wasn't a drain anywhere nearby so the water just rain everywhere!!!

Monday 12th March 07

. . . .

Angela & Hazel started the ball rolling in knocking the building down, but then the digger driver had the most fun ! Ken had a go on the digger as well.

. .& soon there was very little left. Tuesday morning was bright & sunny and the area was soon dug out for the footings

We are now left with a large base, already for the delivery of the new toilet / shower block. However we have been informed today (19th March) that the delivery date is now running approx 3 weeks behind i.e. week commencing 7th May - a lot later than we had originally anticipated

Friday 11th May 2007 - The Arrival !

We woke early as we have had to arrange for the Dustmen to empty the bins extra early because of the busy May Day Bank Holiday. We didnt want them turning away if the toilet/shower block was slowly making its way up the approach hill/lane.

The sun is trying to break through the clouds very unlike the last couple of wet days. The siters arrived late yesterday and are ready to join the two halves of the building together.

We have arranged to meet the drivers at the bottom of the hill to make sure no damage is done with having the trees in full leaf.

. .

First the first half got stuck at the bottom of the hill & with the 2nd half right behind it that wasnt good. But where there is a will there is a way !

. .

with 2 Landrovers it got to the top of the Hill !

. .

The first half arrived on Park. It didnt take long before the 2nd half was up the hill & on the Lane.

. .

The 2nd half was in the bottom gate & shortly onto the Pad with the front alongside.

. .

The 2nd half is slid alongside, could have really done without the temporary toilets being there!

Friday 16th June 2007
