Latest information regarding the New 'Mad Hatters Bar & Murphy's Kitchen'

Tuesday 4th November 2003

...

The arrival of the building from Finland - As you can see it was tight for the driver to enter the top gate

One of the local farmers (Phil Board), unloaded the wagon using his forklift truck for us.

Monday 10th November - The builders arrived on the park at 1.30pm after a long journey (they set out from home at 3.30am!!)

Tuesday 11th November - It drizzled all day but the workers didnt stop, and sorted out some of the many pieces of this Giant 'Jig-saw'!

Wednesday 12th November - A lovely sunny day means that work progresses fast, and even our Old Landrover has its uses !

Thursday 13th November - Not so sunny today but the building progresses

Friday 14th November - A windy day but work progressed as far as possible before the week-end break

Sunday 16th November - The builders may not be about but we couldnt' let such a lovely sunny day delay the progress of the new Building.

From the oldest to the youngest member of the family, it was all hands on deck !

Wednesday 19th November

Tuesday 25th November

Things slowed down for a while because of a couple of minor hick-ups, but today every thing started moving again !!!

Work commences on the inside - the floor going into the new Murphy's kitchen & work on the roof of the new bar & toilet areas

Wednesday 26th November

The weather was on our side today - see the double rainbow !

Some lights helped things along the way with people working late

Friday 28th November

The picture top right was taken this morning but the others were taken last night.

The window & doorway are part of the new Kitchen

Tuesday 2nd December

Yesterday it rained all day but today is a lovely sunny day & work progresses well

The left hand picture shows the inside of the bar area & the right hand picture shows inside the kitchen

Friday 5th December 2003

The building progress and the electricians have put their 1st fix in the building

From left to right

Picture No.1 has been taken from mom's garden & shows the roof and enterance into Murphy's Kitchen

Picture No.2 taken looking into the Bar area from the front opening to the rear of the building

Picture No.3 has been taken from the back and shows the toilet windows, rear double doors that will open onto a Patio area

The weekend crew worked all Saturday & Sunday, coating the walls inside & out

Tuesday/Wednesday 16th/17th December

The back of the bar shows the new Patio area ---- The front of the Bar with window & door trim in position.

Sunday 21st December 2003

The 3 carpenters worked extremely hard in the 3 days they were here - producing the bar & shelving from raw timber, the skill they have is unbelieveable.

. .

They also made lots of shelves for the kitchen. Murphy's Kitchen is now a dream come true for Ken !

Christmas Day 2003

Although not everything was completed, the aim of serving Christmas Meals in the New Bar was achieved !

18 Meals were served and a good time was had by all. (updated 04/01/2004)
